A man was arrested late Monday night, Sept. 15 after Burien deputies found him unconscious in a running vehicle near a school, along with a gun, ammunition and more than 100 grams of methamphetamine, according to the Burien Police Department.
The incident started when police responding to a welfare check discovered the man, along with drugs and a firearm inside the vehicle, police said.
Police said that during their investigation, the suspect admitted to being under the influence of meth and failed field sobriety tests.
He was taken into custody to sober up in jail.
The firearm seized was described as a “built handgun” with no serial number, commonly referred to as a ghost gun. Police said the man admitted he had built the firearm himself.
Deputies also recovered two magazines, one loaded with 15 rounds and another with 30 rounds, along with 100.51 grams of methamphetamine.
The man was booked into jail on suspicion of physical control of a vehicle while under the influence, drug possession and unlawful possession of a firearm, according to police.
Police did not disclose the name or location of the school.
