Volunteers are needed for Zombie Fest Northwest, coming to the Normandy Park Towne Center on Saturday, Sept. 17! This is a festive community event that increases awareness about disaster preparedness, raises money for local non-profits, and introduces festival-goers from five counties to our wonderful businesses and non-profits! More than 50 businesses and organizations participate in Zombie Fest NW, including the Normandy Park Police, King County, the National Guard, American Red Cross and many more! Free arts & crafts for kids, along with prizes and a free scavenger hunt to build disaster kits. If you’d like to volunteer, please come Wednesday, Aug. 31 for a Volunteer Training Session, from 6pm-7:30 p.m. at Normandy Park’s City Hall community room in the Rec. Center. Look for signs! If you’re unable to attend, don’t worry organizers say they can do another training session. Zombie Fest Northwest is Saturday, Sept. 17th from 2 – 6 p.m. at Normandy Park Towne Center. Volunteers needed:

  • 4 volunteers to greet festival-goers at the shuttle bus stops at NPTC and the police training center.
  • 2 volunteers to wear hazmat costumes to direct people to the Get Zombified tent (free zombie make-up and costumes).
  • 15 zombie make-up volunteers. No experience needed. (a make-up training session will also be held)
  • Photos: Hand-made sashes for the zombie costume contest; 200 free pumpkins for kids; ZF t-shirt design; the amazing Seattle Thrillers; emergency vehicle displays; ZF buttons and stickers.
