King County Sheriff’s Office Detectives have made an arrest in the fatal shooting of a 27-year old Burien man that took place near SW 96th Street and 15th Ave. SW in White Center on Friday night (Nov. 10).

Police say that a juvenile male was arrested and booked into the King County Youth Detention Center earlier this week.

“At this point, there is no new information about what led to the fight that occurred just prior to the shooting, and Detectives are still actively investigating this incident,” Sgt. Jason Houck said.

As we previously reported, on Friday night around 10:40 p.m., deputies responded to a report of a man shot near SW 96th Street and 15 Ave SW. When deputies arrived they found a man on the ground not breathing. Deputies administered CPR until Medics arrived but resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and his identity has not yet been released by the King County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Witnesses told police that a group of men were with talking with the victim prior to the shooting. The suspect who was with the group of men fought with the victim. When the fight was over the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the victim. The men fled the scene on foot.
