King County Fire District #2 and neighboring agencies responded to a report of a residential fire in Burien on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2024, which displaced three residents and eight dogs.
First arriving crews found smoke and flames from a window in the basement area of the home, located on S. 128th Street at around 3:16 p.m.
Upon entry, the basement was found to be a living space with one bedroom involved in fire.
Quick actions by the engine company proved successful in extinguishing the flames.
The fire was contained, with resultant smoke damage to the rest of the downstairs.
Effective use of hose streams led to minimal water damage during the process of putting the fire out.
No reports of injuries to fire department personnel.
The American Red Cross said the blaze displaced three people and eight dogs.
“Red Cross volunteers are aware and will reach out to make sure the needs of people and pets are supported,” officials said.
