Parents, guardians and family members of current Highline Public Schools students are invited and encouraged to apply for the Superintendent’s Family Action Committee (FAC).

FAC connects families directly with district leadership. Members provide feedback on policies, guide family engagement, and help keep Highline staff accountable to its strategic plan.

The committee aims to include representatives from every school, reflecting the diversity of the Highline community.

Committee members spend up to six hours monthly on meetings and subcommittees.

Terms last two years, starting this fall.

Up to 40 family members will be chosen.

“When families share their perspectives and we partner with them, we become a stronger school district,” said Superintendent Ivan Duran. “Through the Family Action Committee, we can ensure our policies and practices reflect the diverse voices and strengths of the Highline community.”

The first meeting of the Family Action Committee for the 2025-26 school year is scheduled for Oct. 27.

Families interested in applying or nominating others can learn more and submit an application on the Highline website.
