A man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in Burien after refusing to comply with deputies and attempting to flee, according to the Burien Police Department.

The incident happened around 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 10, when a deputy was dispatched to a parking violation in the city.

Police said the vehicle was found in a “No Parking Zone” with two men inside.

When the deputy contacted the driver, he noticed the men were drinking and getting high inside the car.

The deputy ordered the driver to step out, but the man refused and tried to drive away, according to the department.

A fight broke out between the driver and the deputy before additional deputies arrived to assist.

The driver was taken into custody, transported to jail and his vehicle was impounded.

No injuries were reported.
