Deputies with the Burien Police Department recovered a stolen vehicle and arrested a suspect on multiple charges after locating the car within city limits Wednesday morning, April 1.

Officers were contacted by another law enforcement agency regarding a stolen vehicle that was being actively tracked by the victim. The vehicle’s location was reported to be in Burien.

Deputies responded to the area and located the vehicle, which was occupied by a single male who was found slumped over inside.

The individual was safely detained without incident.

During the investigation, deputies discovered a firearm inside the vehicle. Police said the suspect is a convicted felon, making it illegal for him to possess a firearm.

A search of the vehicle also revealed narcotics and multiple identification cards that did not belong to the suspect, according to police.

Police said the suspect was taken into custody and booked into jail for:

  • Possession of a stolen vehicle
  • Unlawful possession of a firearm
  • Possession of narcotics
  • Additional misdemeanor charges

This incident highlights the importance of quick information sharing between agencies and the use of technology in locating stolen property.

Police offered this reminder:

“If your vehicle is stolen, report it immediately and provide any tracking information to law enforcement. As always, if you see suspicious activity, do not approach—call 911.”
