The Burien City Council will hold a special meeting and retreat this Friday, April 3, starting at 9 a.m. at the Puget Sound Skills Center (PSSC) Lecture Hall (map below), where councilmembers are scheduled to review proclamations, discuss orientation topics and examine how the city will measure success on its long range goals and priorities.

The meeting can be viewed in-person at PSSC, or via a recording that will be available for viewing on Monday, April 6 at https://cloud.castus.tv/vod/burien.

According to the meeting agenda, the retreat will begin with introductions and an ice breaker, followed by a “Council 101: Roadmap to Success” discussion.

After lunch, councilmembers are slated to review the city’s proposed 2026 proclamations list, then discuss Burien’s 2023 to 2028 Strategic Plan, which outlines priorities including financial stability, racial equity, community accountability and “smart, mindful development.”
