A stolen vehicle was recovered and a suspect arrested early Tuesday morning after a traffic stop in Burien, according to the Burien Police Department.
A deputy observed a vehicle around 2 a.m. near SW 146th Street and First Ave South that was operating without proper licensing and failed to signal, police said. After closing the distance, the deputy noticed the vehicle displayed a trip permit that appeared invalid.
A traffic stop was conducted, and deputies verified the vehicle identification number, confirming the car had been reported stolen last month, according to police.
The driver was taken into custody without incident and later booked into the King County Jail for possession of a stolen vehicle.
“This incident highlights the importance of proactive policing and attention to detail in keeping our community safe,” police said in a statement. “If you have information about suspicious activity, please report it.”
