A stolen vehicle was recovered and a suspect arrested early Tuesday morning after a traffic stop in Burien, according to the Burien Police Department.
A deputy observed a vehicle around 2 a.m. near SW 146th Street and First Ave South that was operating without proper licensing and failed to signal, police said. After closing the distance, the deputy noticed the vehicle displayed a trip permit that appeared invalid.
A traffic stop was conducted, and deputies verified the vehicle identification number, confirming the car had been reported stolen last month, according to police.
The driver was taken into custody without incident and later booked into the King County Jail for possession of a stolen vehicle.
“This incident highlights the importance of proactive policing and attention to detail in keeping our community safe,” police said in a statement. “If you have information about suspicious activity, please report it.”

Lived here for 24 yrs.and watched this city circle the drain ever since the bus depot was built. Then the small bars with constant guns shots, for years now.Nothing being done. And alot of arrests end with release of the person committing the crime. There must be consequences for crimes. And guess what our tax money is paying for all the housing, programs etc.for those who choose fentynol over a day to day life.Anyone breaking the law should be punished.I read the story of the person with I think 92 DUI arrests.AND SHE WAS STILL ALLOWED TO DRIVE….MAYBE JAIL TIME ON THE 2ND ARREST.anyway it’s sad to watch, before covid and that awful bus turn around Burien was growing and it was great.Now….?
^^ Thank you common sense neighbor – absolutely spot on when the downfall started to happen in Burien. Keep speaking about it, lets get the votes & mindsets in the right direction!!!!
