The Des Moines Memorial Drive Preservation Association will host a Memorial Day celebration on Monday, May 25, at the former Sunnydale School in Burien.
The event is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. at the school campus near South 156th Street and Des Moines Memorial Drive (map below).
The program will include music, history presentations and a special presentation as part of the community observance honoring Memorial Day.
Organizers said the event is also designated as an official Washington state America 250th event.

A reception will follow the ceremony, according to the Des Moines Memorial Drive Preservation Association.
