Seattle guitarist and singer Ayron Jones is performing a series of intimate solo acoustic shows every Wednesday in June at The Point Liquor & Eats in Burien, according to event organizers.
The weekly performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. and are part of the venue’s expanded live music offerings as the region welcomes visitors during the FIFA World Cup festivities.
Organizers described the performances as small, intimate shows and said the venue is hosting Jones throughout June as it increases entertainment options for local residents and international visitors.
Jones has built a following throughout the Pacific Northwest with a sound that blends elements of Seattle’s rich musical history, drawing influence from artists ranging from Jimi Hendrix to Nirvana. His songwriting is known for its emotional depth and genre crossing style.
As his profile has grown beyond the Pacific Northwest, Jones has shared stages with artists including Run DMC, Public Enemy, Rakim, Jeff Beck, Theory of a Deadman, Robin Trower and Spearhead. He also has opened for major acts including Guns N’ Roses, The Rolling Stones and Daughtry.
In biographical information provided by organizers, Jones reflected on his experiences in the music industry.
“Being black in the rock industry, I was forging a path into establishments and onto tours that had not previously embraced an artist like me,” Jones said. “But the one thing that always changed minds and spoke for itself was the music.”
