Highline Musical Theatre (HMT) announced this week that tickets are now on sale for its upcoming MainStage production of “Little Shop of Horrors,” the beloved musical comedy by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken.

Performance dates are July 18 – Aug 2 at Highline College in Des Moines.

A deliciously devious blend of comedy, romance, doo-wop, and horror, “Little Shop of Horrors” tells the story of Seymour Krelborn, a shy floral assistant who discovers a mysterious plant with an insatiable appetite. As the plant grows, so do Seymour’s fortunes – but at a horrifying cost.

Featuring unforgettable songs including “Suddenly, Seymour,” “Skid Row (Downtown),” and “Somewhere That’s Green,” Little Shop of Horrors has delighted audiences around the world for more than four decades.

“This show is funny, heartfelt, and wonderfully over-the-top,” said HMT’s Artistic Director Kathleen Edwards. “Audiences will fall in love with these quirky characters, laugh at the outrageous comedy, and marvel at the larger-than-life plant at the center of it all.”

The production continues HMT’s 60-year tradition of bringing high-quality musical theatre to South King County audiences. The 2026 Season has included sold-out performances of “Beetlejuice Jr.” and “The Wizard of Oz Youth Edition“, and “Little Shop of Horrors” promises an unforgettable theatrical experience for teens and adults alike.
