A major investigation was underway Monday morning, July 20 into an officer-involved shooting just south of Sea-Tac Airport, where a stretch of 16th Ave South remained blocked at South 192nd Street (map below).

KING 5 News reported that the King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) is calling the case a “major incident.” Police said that the Valley Independent Investigation Team is handling the investigation, with Renton Police serving as the primary agency, which is standard procedure in officer involved incidents.

Video from the scene showed the medical examiner arriving and working near a van. KING 5 also reported that a tow truck removed what appeared to be a black Tesla from the area within the last hour.
