The Burien Creative District is seeking volunteers for the first ever ArtLab Burien, an immersive arts, culture and community festival planned for 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 29 in downtown Burien.

The event will transform SW 153rd Street between Ambaum Blvd. SW and 6th Ave SW, in the heart of the Burien Creative District, into a festival featuring artists, poets, actors, filmmakers, crafters, musicians, cultural workers and arts and culture organizations.

Organizers said the event is designed to move attendees beyond watching performances or exhibits.

“Rather than simply acting as spectator, attendees will be invited into the process and encouraged to participate,” the Burien Creative District said.

The main stage and the stage at the HeART Gallery will feature local bands, performing ensembles and poets, while buskers will perform in the street.

“Art encounters will pepper the block with opportunities at every turn to interact and create!”

The Burien Creative District said people interested in volunteering or learning more can message the organization or email events@buriencreativedistrict.com.
