Photos and Story by Isabel Herbruger, age 11
The past week I went to the Pirates soccer game, baseball game, and two track meets.
In soccer, the boys played Hazen and Evergreen. The Pirates lost both. At the Hazen game, it was exciting to watch the plays the boys had. There were lots of fancy moves and good passes to keep you watching to see what would happen next. The next Pirate soccer game is against Foster at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 4, 2016 at Highline Memorial. More photos are available at Pirate Soccer by Isabel.

In other sad news, I learned Pirate Sprinter Coach Wuotila passed away earlier this year. He was good coach and had lots of advice on how to improve a sprinter’s skills. I remember the advice he gave me so I could be faster than my brothers some day:
- Stretch a lot. The best runners are flexible.
- A runner’s strength comes from their arms, not their legs.
- Always recruit your fastest friends to join the team.
