The Port of Seattle and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) have fully restored their website following a cyberattack on Aug. 24, 2024 officials announced on Monday, Nov. 25, 2024.

Travelers can now access essential holiday travel tips, passenger volume projections, and updates on terminal operations through the website.

The cyberattack had disrupted access to the site for months, but teams worked diligently to bring systems back online. While the website is operational, some areas are still under construction, including checkpoint wait time updates, drive cameras, and the Fly SEA app.

As we previously reported, hackers from a group believed to be linked to Russia demanded $6 million in bitcoin, but that was refused by the Port.

“We appreciate the public’s patience as we continue to migrate updated content and restore additional features,” the Port of Seattle said in a statement.

Holiday Travel Projections

SEA is preparing for a busy holiday travel season, with passenger volumes peaking on key dates:

  • Wednesday, Nov. 27: 177,000 travelers
  • Sunday, Dec. 1: 177,000 travelers
  • Saturday, Nov. 30: 172,000 travelers
  • Tuesday, Nov. 26: 166,000 travelers

Checkpoint Construction and Resources

Checkpoint 5 is closed for construction, but SEA Spot Saver remains available to help travelers reserve times for expedited security screening.

Passengers are encouraged to use the terminal’s interactive map and monitor SEA’s social media channels for real-time updates.
