Alimentando al Pueblo and PCC Markets will host a food drive and community celebration Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Burien PCC in recognition of Latin American Heritage Month.

The event, called “Comida y Corazon,” will run from Noon to 3 p.m. and feature live Latin music, free food, games, activities and prizes in the store’s classroom.

Organizers said the event will include a San Harocho band and will benefit Alimentando al Pueblo, a local hunger relief organization serving the community.

The event invites residents to learn more about Alimentando al Pueblo’s work while taking part in the celebration.

Alimentando al Pueblo is a Burien-based organization focused on community care and hunger relief, with an emphasis on serving Latino, immigrant and South King County families.
