Armoire Chocolat, located in Olde Burien, announced that they will be closing up shop after they shut their doors for the last time this Thursday, Dec. 24, 2020.

The small charming store was run by mother and daughter team Ellane Pirotte and Mara Culhane, who served up French coffee, croissants and unique, handmade original chocolates for over nine years.

They told us that their closing is not tied directly to the pandemic.

This location previously housed the Danish Bakery, which was in business there for 44 years(!) before closing in October, 2011. Armoire took over the small storefront shortly thereafter.

“Can you believe this is our 10th Christmas here?!” owners told The B-Town Blog. “Unfortunately it is also our last. We are open (this) Wednesday and Thursday (Dec. 23 & 24). We are closing the retail shop after that.”

“We have decided to focus our attentions to some other projects for a while,” they added. “Mara will be at home with her two daughters. Ellane will continue creating new yummy creations. We plan on participating in some local markets. We have been thinking about letting new blood into the space. There will be a new lady named Chelsey running her cookie business in the location. They will open after some remodeling. We have loved and appreciated the Burien community. We are sad to be leaving.”
