Bhargavi Bharata Natyalaya, a Bharatanatyam dance school, will commemorate its 15th anniversary with a special performance titled “Vaageyakaaram Vandhe” on Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Highline Performing Arts Center (map below).

Founded in 2008 by Smt. Sandhya Bhargavi Kandadai Rajagopal, the school is dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich tradition of Bharatanatyam, a classical Indian dance form.

The upcoming program will pay homage to revered Indian composers and poets through a series of choreographed performances.

Special Guests:

  • Burien Mayor Kevin James Schilling
  • Sen. Tina Orwall
  • Des Moines Mayor Traci Buxton

“Our heartfelt gratitude to the precious children and parents of Bhargavi Bharata Natyalaya, Board members of Bhargavi Arts Academy, volunteers and Sponsors for their unwavering support as always,” organizers said.

The performance is supported in part by a grant from the Burien Arts Commission, which aims to enhance cultural opportunities for residents.

Tickets for the event are $10 and are available online at:
