Amerivespa – the USA’s largest motor-scooter gathering – attracts 600-800 Vespa aficionados and other scooter-motorists from all across the United States (and all around the globe, including Burien) for a four-day ride event in celebration of all things scooter.

Approximately 20-30 area Vespas riders were represented in Flagstaff at the 2023 Vespa Rally in early June, with around 10 from our area, including:

  • Jeff and Stephanie Overstreet (Normandy Park)
  • Jen Merril (Burien)
  • Enzo Morella (Burien)
  • Giovanni Morella (Des Moines)
  • Michael and Julie Di Pietro (Normandy Park)
  • Celest and Gildo Desimone (Des Moines)
  • Ammie Agan (Normandy Park)

The event consisted of daily rides, obstacle courses, a banquet and of course Vespa aficionado camaraderie.

The local group participated in a Sodona/Jerome Ride which included approximately 100 Vespas, and the next day a long ride to the Grand Canyon which included approximately 200 Vespas.

Saturday included watching an obstacle course competition (no one in our group was brave enough to participate in trying to jump their Scooters.)  and an event ending banquet.

Three locals also participated in a Scooter Cannonball, which is a 10 day cannonball across the country on their Vespas from San Diego to South Carolina.
