On April 12, 2024, King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) Guardian One helicopter assisted Burien Police/KCSO officers in the pursuit of two armed male suspects following a carjacking that started in the White Center area and a chase that ended near Salmon Creek Ravine in Burien (map below).

As we previously reported, that night just after 7:40 p.m., Seattle Police received a report of a carjacking in the 9200 block of 35th Ave SW. The victim reported their white Audi SUV was stolen at gunpoint by two suspects who arrived in a dark-colored Hyundai.

Officers pursued the suspects as Guardian One assisted, tracking both vehicles as they traveled through the north Burien area before ending in the Salmon Creek neighborhood.

Police apprehended two juvenile males, who were later booked into the Judge Patricia H. Clark Children and Family Justice Center.

Both the stolen Audi and the Hyundai used by the suspects were recovered.

A gun was also seized by police.

Below is video released by KCSO showing the pursuit as viewed from Guardian One’s Forward Looking Infrared Real-Time Video (FLIR) camera (running time 26:50):

  1. It was a scary 2 hours that night with deputies swarming the neighborhood shouting ‘stay in your house’ as they pursued the suspects into the wooded ravine.
