After being chased by police Wednesday night (Dec. 16, 2020), three armed carjacking suspects are in custody, and a fourth is still being sought.

The King County Sheriff’s Office says the incident began early Wednesday night, when a Mercedes was carjacked at gunpoint. That vehicle was equipped with a tracking device, and was eventually found in Burien. When police discovered the stolen car, it sped off.

Police chased the stolen Mercedes until stopping it using a PIT maneuver near Tyee High School in SeaTac.

A male and female inside the carjacked vehicle were arrested, and two others tried to flee. One was captured, but the fourth suspect escaped and remains at large.

There were no injuries.

Police add that this case is related to another reported carjacking of a Toyota Camry Wednesday night.

“This remains an open/active investigation so I have no additional information to share,” Sgt. Tim Meyer said. “We are encouraged that three persons are in-custody and the vehicle has been recovered. Southwest King County is safer thanks to the work of our SeaTac, Burien and other deputies.”
