It breaks our heart to have to post a story such as this one, but Burien detectives need your help.

On the afternoon of 01/29/2021 at 1:36 p.m., Burien deputies were dispatched to a report of a theft at an apartment complex at the 11600 block of Des Moines Memorial Drive South (map below).

Deputies spoke to the victim, who reported someone had taken the motorized wheelchair he needs to get around. He parked his wheelchair on the 1st floor of the apartment building and has never had an issue until that day. When checking with the apartment manager, they found surveillance footage of the suspect as he drove away in the wheelchair.

The suspect is the white male pictured here, approximately 30-years old. The stolen wheelchair is black, with a label “Newmotion” on the base.

If you have any information on the suspect or the whereabouts of the wheelchair, please contact our non-emergency number at 206-296-3311 and refer to case #C21003254.
