As the recent cold weather starts to diminish, organizers at the Burien Severe Weather Shelter announced that they extending their hours, but will close on Wednesday morning, Mar. 1, 2023 at 9 a.m.

And YOU can help – they’ve updated their Sign Up page with remaining Volunteer shifts and needed items.

In addition to what’s on the Sign UP, their most needed items are:

  • Face masks (anyone have a source for these?)
  • Hand warmers
  • Bananas & Oranges
  • Outer wear (coats, gloves, boots/shoes – adult sizes)
  • Personal body wipes
  • Fruit juice

Organizers say they are also keeping an eye on the weather for early next week, and will open again if/when overnight lows hit 32 degrees.

“Thanks everyone!
