Burien’s Hi-Liners Musical Theatre (HMT) has been awarded a three-year Sustained Support grant from 4Culture, which will provide more than $164,000 in funding through 2027.

This grant will help the organization continue its mission of empowering young performers and enriching the King County community through musical theatre.

“This grant is transformative not just for Hi-Liners but for the entire arts community,” said Kathleen Edwards, HMT artistic director. “Thanks to 4Culture’s support, we get to witness a wave of resources revitalizing arts organizations and theatres across King County. We’re proud to be part of this powerful moment.”

The funding was made possible through the Doors Open legislation and sustained revenue from the Lodging Tax. HMT is one of 725 organizations selected for 4Culture’s Sustained Support program, which allocated $37 million in funding for 2025 alone.

The program supports arts, heritage, and cultural organizations, ensuring a vibrant and accessible cultural landscape across King County.

The grant represents a significant investment in the future of local arts and culture, reinforcing the importance of local arts organizations in fostering creativity, community engagement, arts education and cultural enrichment.
