All are invited to come to the Seattle Grand Opening of the exhibition Carissimo Pinocchio, which will take place this Saturday, June 15, 2024 at the Casa Italiana Italian Cultural Center in Burien, with a special reception from 3 – 6 p.m.

All are invited to enjoy a festive opening complete with light refreshments and drinks for purchase.

This stimulating exhibit is part of a traveling tour originally conceived in Milan at the ADI Design Museum Milano honoring the 140th anniversary of the first edition of the book “The Adventures of Pinocchio – Story of a Puppet” by Carlo Collodi, the most translated Italian book in the world. The beloved puppet who dreams of becoming a real boy has been reimagined and reshaped in a variety of artistic objects – some whimsical, some bold – but all sure to make a lasting impression on the viewer.

This exhibition fills a prime space at the Casa Italiana. Temporarily replacing their permanent displays, which chronicles the history of important Italian families in the settling and growth of Seattle and the surrounding area. Those displays will return from their lovingly cared for storage when the Carissimo Pinocchio exhibit moves on.

Casa visitors will be able to enjoy the exhibits all the way through Aug. 15, 2024.

This show is possible through the courtesy and cooperation of The IIC San Francisco, the Honorary Consulate of Italy in Seattle, the Comites of San Francisco and the Casa Italiana.  Further thanks are extended to the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Italian Cultural iInstitute of San Francisco, the Consulate General of Italy, San Francisco, ADI Design Museum Milano and the curator Giulio Iacchetti.
