King County Proposition No. 1 continues to show robust support from voters, with the latest round of election results released Wednesday, April 23 indicating the measure is on track for passage.

According to updated numbers, 59.40% of voters have approved the measure, with 173,090 votes in favor and 118,305 opposed.

The proposition requires a simple majority to pass.

Proposition No. 1 authorizes a seven-year property tax levy beginning in 2026 to support continued operation and technological upgrades to the countywide forensic fingerprint and palmprint identification system.

The latest count reflects a voter turnout of 20.46%, with 292,001 ballots counted out of 1,427,439 registered voters. These results show a slight increase in both total ballots counted and voter turnout compared to the first round of results, where 59.72% of voters approved the measure.

As with earlier results, King County Elections emphasized that these numbers remain unofficial until certified on May 5.
