This Sunday at 9 a.m. on KING 5 and KING 5 Plus, Conversations with KD Hall returns with a powerful new episode featuring UFC fighter Terrance McKinney.
In a conversation that begins with grit, glory, and the warrior spirit, the episode takes an emotional turn that will resonate deeply with viewers.
Just 10 days after the interview, tragedy struck: Terrance’s younger brother, Gabriel, passed away from a fentanyl-laced pill. His sudden death sent shockwaves through the McKinney family and ignited a new mission—one led by his mother, Kitara Johnson Jones.
In Gabriel’s memory, Kitara is launching #TheGabrielChallenge, a bold public awareness campaign that will officially kick off on Mother’s Day, May 11, 2025. The initiative is a call to action for families, educators, and youth across the country to speak openly about the dangers of fentanyl, counterfeit pills, and substance misuse.
“What started as a story about fighting in the octagon turned into something much deeper,” host KD Hall said. “It became a story about a mother’s strength, a brother’s love, and a community’s fight to prevent another life from being lost.”
#TheGabrielChallenge is a movement of hope born out of heartbreak—inviting everyone to share Gabriel’s story, educate their communities, and honor those lost to fentanyl with action and awareness.
Watch the full interview this Sunday at 9 a.m. on KING 5 and KING 5 Plus, and follow along on social media as the challenge launches this May.
