Fire crews from multiple agencies responded to an ammonia leak in the 1200 block of Andover Park East in Tukwila on Monday morning, Feb. 24, 2025, authorities confirmed.

Eight employees were evacuated safely.

Puget Sound Fire, Renton Regional Fire Authority, South King Fire & Rescue, and Port of Seattle Fire Department worked together to contain the leak, along with assistance from King County Medic One, Zone 3 Fire Cadets, and King County Fire District 20.

Andover Park East was closed from South 180th Street to Costco Drive, but reopened shortly before 7 a.m.

Fire authorities urged caution in the area but confirmed that the situation had been contained.

The cause of the leak has not yet been disclosed, and officials did not reported any injuries.

The incident remains under investigation.
