The Exchange Club of Highline and local Rotary clubs recently showed their thanks and appreciation to local police officers and support staff.
“We appreciate the commitment of our local police to our community,” said Brian Trautmann of the Exchange Club of Highline. “With the support of the Normandy Park and Des Moines Rotary, we recently honored the officers and staff of the Burien, Normandy Park and Des Moines police precincts.
“We delivered 146 gift boxes that were put together by Dan the Sausage Man to share with their families,” Trautmann said. “We wanted to show our thanks for all they do and let them know the community appreciates their commitment and sacrifice that they all offer to keep us safe.”
Thank you baskets of goodies were also sent to SeaTac and Seattle Police Delridge area precincts.
“Let’s remember, too, the families of our area first responders,” Trautmann said. “They make sacrifices all the time that most of us never even see.”
