An area between SW 170th Street and 31st Ave SW and 28th Ave SW and SW 169th Street in Burien’s Three Tree Point neighborhood has been re-opened after being closed due to a gas leak on Wednesday afternoon, May 17, 2023.

The initial dispatch call came in at 1:56 p.m., and multiple units responded.

Looks like this was caused by a possible break in a gas line due to construction work.

Puget Sound Energy was able to isolate the leak quickly, and a hazmat unit from Renton came in to assist King County Fire District #2, ensuring air quality was good in all the surrounding homes, and it was.

Total on scene time for emergency response personnel was under forty minutes.

Flaggers were on scene to safely move traffic through.
