EDITOR’S NOTE: South King Media Founder/Publisher Scott Schaefer serves on the Board of Directors for the Seattle Southside Chamber of Commerce.
During these challenging times, local small businesses need grant assistance – and not just access to debt programs – and for this reason, the Seattle Southside Chamber of Commerce’s Success Foundation SMART fund is hoping to provide direct grant awards to local businesses.
“Please consider donating to this completely tax-deductible fund to provide direct cash assistance to small businesses in our community.”
The Southside Mitigation and Recovery Taskforce (SMART) has been hard at work for over 10 months now finding ways to help support small businesses in the region.
One of the ways the chamber has been able to offer support is through fundraising and donations to the Southside Strong Fund – a fund established to give direct cash assistance to small businesses that need it most and made possible through the generous donations of its members.
The chamber recently distributed funds in its first round of grant awards.
“We are hopeful that we will be able to continue to raise funds and do a second distribution in the coming months,” CEO Andrea Reay said. “The faster we are able to replenish the fund, the faster we can offer a second distribution.”
Donations to the Foundation are tax-deductible.
“Thank you again for being part of our business community in the Southside,” CEO Andrea Reay said. “We look forward to serving you and working together to keep our community healthy and strong #SouthsideStrong.”
