The Kennedy Catholic High Lancers put the Tahoma Bears into hibernation with a 58-14 win in Saturday’s (Oct. 21, 2023) home conference varsity football game at Highline Memorial Stadium.

Some highlights from the game:

1st quarter:

  • #3 Devon Forehand completed a 40-yard TD pass to #6 Joey Thomas III to make it 6-0.
  • #27 Royce Miller has a 40-yard rushing TD to put the Lancers up 13-0.
  • #5 Indiana Jones makes a 35-yard rushing TD to make it 20-0.

2nd quarter:

  • #5 Indiana Jones makes a 3-yard Rushing TD to make it 27-7.
  • #81 Ryan Thomas kicks 30-yard Field Goal to make it 31-7 at the half.

3rd quarter:

  • #3 Devon Forehand throws 5-yard pass to #6 Joey Thomas III for a TD to make it 37-7.
  • #28 had a 45-yard rushing TD to make it 44-7.

4th quarter:

  • #3 Devon Forehand 45 Yd pass completed to #5 Indiana Jones for a TD to make it 51-14
  • #1 Landen Kahai has a 45-yard Rushing TD to make it 57-14.

With the win, the Lancers are now 7-1 overall and 5-0 in division in the 4A North Puget Sound League.

They are ranked 20th in state WIAA rankings, and are averaging just over 46 points per game.

Their next – and final season game before state playoffs start Nov. 10 – will be an away game at Highline Memorial Stadium against the 1-6 Mt. Rainier Rams on Friday, Oct. 27, 2023, with a 7 p.m. kickoff.

The team is coached by Pat Jones, who is doing very well in his first season since taking over from Sheldon Cross this year.
