King County Fire District #2 has launched its annual Holiday Outreach program, which will provide food and gifts to 20 families in need within the district’s service area, according to information released by the department.
The fire district will purchase holiday food for the families using monetary donations received through Dec. 20.
Donations of cash or checks are being accepted at Headquarters Fire Station 28, located at 900 SW 146th Street in Burien (map below).
The district said TriMed Ambulance has again donated toys for all participating families.
“This is an amazing gift to the community and our annual outreach will truly make a difference in our community because of this generous donation,” organizers said.
Each year, the district partners with the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services to identify families living within the response area who are in need of support during the holidays.
King County Fire District #2 provides fire and emergency medical service to the cities of Burien and Normandy Park, as well as the unincorporated North Highline area of King County, which includes White Center and surrounding neighborhoods.
For more information, donors may contact Fire Station 28 at (206) 242-2040.
