Deputies with the King County Sheriff’s Office seized hundreds of pounds of illegal drugs and nearly $90,000 in suspected drug proceeds during a December operation that authorities said is connected to a larger investigation targeting a network linked to the Sinaloa Cartel.
The sheriff’s office said the enforcement action, carried out through Precinct 4 in Burien on Dec. 17 and dubbed “Operation Eastbound and Down – The Last Chapter,” resulted in the seizure of about 214 pounds of methamphetamine and 5 pounds of heroin.
Investigators also recovered $89,780 in cash believed to be proceeds from drug trafficking.
One suspect was arrested and booked into the Snohomish County Jail, according to police.
Authorities estimated the overall street value of the seized narcotics at around $2 million.
The operation follows a major drug bust last month by the sheriff’s office Precinct Four Special Emphasis Team based in Burien that investigators said was tied to the Sinaloa Cartel network.
The sheriff’s office described the December arrests and seizures as a continuation of that investigation.
Police also noted that K9 Quinn assisted in the operation, making this his 30th deployment during 2025, according to the agency.
“You go boy,” police said about Quinn.
Police said that total results for the entire Operation Eastbound and Down investigation include:
- 295.84 pounds of methamphetamine
- 22 pounds of fentanyl powder
- 2.87 pounds of cocaine
- 12.33 pounds of heroin
- $229,391 in cash seized (drug proceeds)
- One vehicle seized
