Burien PaRCS Department is seeking the public’s opinion on the final playground equipment for Lake Burien School Memorial Park.

The city will ultimately build two separate playgrounds:

    • One for youth (5-12 years old)
    • One for tots (2-5 years old)

The city says that the first step is to build the youth playground because data from its last outreach showed that most children using this playground are in the youth age category. Funding for the tot play area is not secured yet, but the city says it’s working on public and private funding opportunities for that project.

In addition to building the youth playground, the city will reconstruct the pathway in the park to create a paved loop with an adjacent soft surface loop. The paved loop will provide accessibility in compliance with the American’s with Disabilities Act.

“Tell us which playground equipment your children will enjoy the most! We have a limited budget and we are working with our creative consultants to provide the best value for our community.”
