Local middle school Tekerz Robotics team has had their building broken into and burgled twice over the last two weekends, and since they have a competition coming up this Saturday, Dec 2, 2023, they’re seeking help.

Together, both teams lost around $5,000 worth of tools and parts.

The team is now holding a fundraiser, and are seeking donations:

More info from Tekerz Robotics:

“FTC Team 11109 is an extraordinary robotics team serving the Highline School District community, and we are committed to making robotics and STEM learning accessible to all students in our diverse community. However, to achieve this goal, we need your support more than ever before.

“On Sunday Nov 26th, just days before a competition, we discovered that our meeting space was broken into and many items needed to finish our robot and compete were stolen. This effected our sister team FTC 21764 as well. Together, both teams lost approximately $5,000 worth of tools and parts.

“We are extremely saddened by this new challenge and are currently working on purchasing or borrowing what is needed for both teams to compete on Dec 2nd and on Jan 14th.

“If you are able to make a donation to help us buy new items, it would be tremendously appreciated. Our program teaches so many valuable STEM skills to kids, and we don’t want this thoughtless crime to get in the way of their learning and success.

“Sincerely,
Team 11109″
