Burien’s Environmental Science Center will host a series of free Moonlight Beach Walks at Seahurst Park, inviting residents to explore the shoreline under the glow of their flashlights while learning about local marine life.

The guided night walks will take place on the following dates:

  • Friday, Dec. 5 from 9 to 11 p.m.
  • Friday, Jan. 2 from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m.
  • Friday, Jan. 30 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, Jan. 31 from 8 to 10 p.m.

Participants will join ESC naturalists to observe sea creatures during low tide, learn stewardship tips for protecting marine habitats, and use wildlife guides to identify intertidal species.

Afterward, warm drinks will be available near the park restrooms, which will remain open during the event.

The Moonlight Beach Walks are free, but registration is required at bit.ly/3qSif0I.

Attendees should register all participants in their group and meet near the restrooms at Seahurst Park.

Visitors are encouraged to bring flashlights, waterproof footwear, and warm clothing.

Registration for the December event is open now, while January registration begins Dec. 1.

The events are made possible through sponsorship from the City of Burien and 4Culture.
