EDITOR’S NOTE: South King Media Founder/Publisher Scott Schaefer serves on the Board of Directors for the Seattle Southside Chamber of Commerce.

The City of Normandy Park and Seattle Southside Chamber of Commerce will host a new ‘Community Connect’ series starting Wednesday, May 13, aimed at bringing residents, local businesses and city leadership together through a series of public engagement events.

This first event will run from 4–6 p.m. May 13 at Archie’s Mexican Restaurant (map below).

The series will continue on July 16 and Oct. 15, 2026.

Organizers said the initiative is designed to strengthen community connections, increase awareness of city resources and support local economic vitality through coordinated outreach and programming.

Each event will include a welcome from city leadership or a council representative, along with a brief city update focused on key initiatives, projects and services.

“Through these events, the City seeks to foster stronger relationships with local businesses, highlight community resources, and promote Normandy Park as a vibrant and connected place to live, work, and gather,” organizers said.
