Multiple lanes of northbound I-5 near SR 599 at milepost 156 were closed after a fatal collision Friday morning, March 7, 2025 in Tukwila.
Washington State Patrol said the crash occurred on the SR 599 / Interurban overpass, where one of the vehicles ended up going off the overpass onto northbound I-5.
The left lane on the northbound I-5 off-ramp to SR 599 was also closed.
Emergency crews were on scene.

UPDATE Mar. 7, 2025, 2:31 p.m.: The individual that was ejected on the overpass prior to the vehicle falling onto I-5 has been placed in custody for Felony Hit and Run, according to the Washington State Patrol.
“This person fled the scene and was caught minutes later,” Troopers said. “Once medically cleared he will be booked into jail.”

UPDATE: Just a single right lane is open on NB I-5 at SR 599 in south Seattle for a rollover collision. The left lane on the NB I-5 overpass ramp to SR 599 is also blocked.
