On Sunday, Aug. 13, numerous Obliteride bike riders cruised through Burien’s Three Tree Point neighborhood, which was festooned in orange pennants as well as throngs of cheering residents clad in orange to support cancer-fighting fundraisers.
Residents from the neighborhood raised $1,010.00 for Fred Hutch Cancer Center while cheering the riders.
The bicyclists, on their second day of a 150-mile ride, turned the corner of SW 172nd Street and Maplewild Ave SW between 9:18 a.m. and 10:50 a.m., and were met with cheers, cowbells and even a pit stop of free drinks donated by generous residents.
