The next installment of the popular “7 Stories” community storytelling series will be held Friday night, June 26 at the Highline Heritage Museum in Burien, with storytellers sharing personal experiences inspired by the theme “on the road again.”

The free event begins at 7 p.m. at the museum, located at 819 SW 152nd Street (map below), and is part of this monthly storytelling program, which invites community members to tell true, personal stories before a live audience.

This monthly program is designed to build community, foster empathy and celebrate diversity through storytelling. Each event features seven storytellers sharing real life stories connected to a common theme. The stories are told rather than read, and each presentation is limited to seven minutes.

7 Stories is held on the fourth Friday of each month and regularly draws residents from Burien and surrounding South King County communities to hear stories that are personal, heartfelt and authentic.

Storytellers Needed

Community members interested in telling a story are encouraged to sign up in advance. Organizers provide coaching and support for both experienced storytellers and first time participants.

The July theme is one of several planned for the 2026 season, which also includes “Animal Tales” in July, “Karma” in August, “Lessons Learned” in September and “Skeletons in the Closet” in October.

Admission is free, and organizers welcome both storytellers and audience members.

If you are interested in telling your own seven-minute true story at one of those events, please sign-up at https://www.burienculturehub.org/7storiessignup.

Event will also be Livestreamed on Facebook

NOTE: If you can’t make it in person, be sure to “Like” us on Facebook here to get a notification, as we hope to stream it live on that page starting at 7 p.m.

The monthly storytelling series is presented by The B-Town Blog, Highline Heritage Museum, Burien Culture Hub, Burien Arts Association, the City of Burien and 4Culture.
