One person was hospitalized Sunday morning, May 18, 2025 following a residential fire in the 12400 block of 1st Avenue South in Burien, authorities said.

Police told The B-Town Blog that at 6:04 a.m., a man flagged down a Burien Police deputy to report that his house was on fire.

Deputies and crews from North Highline/Burien Fire Department along with several others responded immediately.

When firefighters arrived on scene, they found one male still inside the residence, who was quickly removed and reported to be unharmed.

The man who originally alerted deputies was transported to St. Anne Hospital with suspected smoke inhalation.

According to a nearby resident, the house that caught fire was reportedly a wedding chapel at one time.

The extent of the damage and cause of the fire remain under investigation by King County Sheriff’s Office Fire Investigators, who were on scene Sunday.

Authorities have not released further details, and the current condition of the hospitalized individual has not been made public.
