UPDATE June 21, 2025: A 16-year-old boy was shot and killed inside a home in Burien late Friday afternoon, the King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) confirmed.
Deputies responded to reports of gunfire at about 5:03 p.m. on June 20, 2025 in the 100 block of SW 142nd Street.
Police said that when officers and medics arrived, they found the teen with gunshot wounds inside the residence. First responders attempted lifesaving efforts, but sadly, the teen was pronounced dead at the scene.
No suspects are in custody as of Saturday, and authorities say they do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public.
“Our major crimes team is investigating and will continue this investigation in the upcoming days,” KCSO MPO Jace Hoch told The B-Town Blog.
The King County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the victim’s identity and official cause of death.
