On Sunday, Feb. 11, 2024 at 3:22 p.m., Burien Police/King County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to a shooting call in the 16200 block of 11th Ave SW (map below).

Police said that a 15-year-old victim sustained a gunshot wound and unfortunately died as a result of the injury.

The child’s family and his friend were on the scene at the time of the incident and are cooperating with investigators.

Highline Public Schools is also aware of this incident and is working with youth impacted by this loss of life.

  1. He was a sweet kid and I miss seeing him walk down the street on his way home after school. Such a loss to his family and his neighbors.

  2. Our condolences to the family and friends. For those of us in the neighborhood the lack of information surrounding this is alarming. I live a block from where this happened and still don’t know the details of exactly what transpired. Was this accidental? Was it gang related? Was there a robbery?
