Burien Police / King County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to two armed robberies at separate 7-Eleven locations in the Burien/White Center area on Wednesday night, Oct. 9, 2024, shortly before 9 p.m.

Police said the incidents occurred within minutes of each other, and both involved a suspect using a firearm to demand cash from store registers.

The first robbery took place at the 7-Eleven in the 11000 block of 8th Ave South, in the unincorporated White Center area. Deputies reported that a male suspect entered the store, brandished a gun, and stole money from the cash register before fleeing the scene.

While deputies were investigating the initial incident, they were dispatched to a second robbery at another 7-Eleven in the 11600 block of Des Moines Memorial Drive South. A similar crime had occurred, with a suspect using a firearm to take cash.

No injuries were reported in either robbery.

At this time, there is no additional information on the suspect or suspects involved, or whether they were related.

“There is no information linking these incidents at this time,” KCSO Communications Manager Brandyn Hull told The B-Town Blog. “Both cases are still being investigated.”

The King County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the incidents and urges anyone with information to come forward by calling the non-emergency phone at 206-296-3311.

  1. The lady at the 7 Eleven on 8th Ave S said everyone involved was doing well and that what she really needs is for the community to support her store. She’s worried that people will associate the crime with her store being dangerous…this broke my heart. This location serves my neighborhood, many others on the other side of 509 and down the hill towards Seattle, they’re 24 hours and always happy to have my business. If anyone reads this please take a moment to stop in and show support, even if you don’t buy something…sometimes just knowing people care is enough to heal.
