Choosing the right middle school is an important decision for families, and navigating the many options can feel overwhelming.

To help local families explore those choices, the Greater West Seattle Middle School Night will bring representatives from public, private, independent and faith-based schools together in one convenient location.

The event will be held Monday, Nov. 2, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Gym (map below), giving families an opportunity to meet representatives from participating schools, learn about academic and extracurricular programs, ask questions and discover which school environment may be the best fit for their student.

Kate Anderson, school counselor at Holy Rosary, will give a brief talk at the beginning of the event on the transition from elementary to middle school and how to support students.

“Transitioning to middle school is a big step for students and their families,” said Sally Heit, event organizer. “Our goal is to make the process easier by bringing a wide range of schools together in one place, so families can gather information, ask questions and begin exploring the possibilities for their student.”
