U.S. Rep. Adam Smith will host an aviation forum this Saturday, July 18, at Highline College to hear from constituents about aviation noise and emissions, according to an event announcement.

The free forum will be held from 1–2 p.m. at Highline College’s Building 8, Mt. Townsend Room, and will include Port of Seattle Commissioner Ryan Calkins and state Sen. Tina Orwall of Washington’s 33rd Legislative District.

Smith represents Washington’s 9th Congressional District, which includes parts of South King County and surrounding communities. As a member of Congress, he works on federal issues affecting the region, including transportation, aviation, public health, the environment, economic development and community impacts related to Sea-Tac Airport.

“Speakers will answer questions and provide updates about efforts to advance solutions for aviation-impacted communities,” according to an announcement.

The announcement says the event is intended to hear directly from constituents about concerns surrounding aviation noise and emissions.
