The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will hold a community open house in Burien on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2024 to discuss updates and answer questions about the SR 509 Completion Project.

The event will take place at Big Picture School, located at 440 South 186th Street in Burien (map below), from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

The project team will be available to provide information and address questions from the public.

The SR 509 Completion Project is part of an effort to improve transportation connectivity and reduce congestion in the Puget Sound region.

Community members are encouraged to attend to learn more about the project’s progress and upcoming plans.

  1. This unfortunately is scheduled at the same time as the Seattle Airport Master Plan (SAMP) open house: Thursday 11/14 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Highline High School.
    Both are important.

  2. Please find another option for the increased airport traffic on HWY 509. As a 30 year resident of Burien the constant air and noise pollution must be stopped! There have been little to no support for neighborhoods under the flight path. Please find another option for this traffic and reduce the traffic and noise pollution in tgis area.
